The company that makes Poulan leaf blowers opened its doors for business in 1946, their original location was in Shreveport, Louisiana. The company’s first product was chainsaws, however when they merged with Weed Eater in 1970, they expanded their product line to include leaf blowers among various other new products. Currently Poulan leaf blowers are owned by Husqvarna, and they use many of the same high quality parts in their leaf blowers.

The company manufactures two lines of leaf blowers, one is intended for the average homeowner and the other one, called Poulan Pro, is more appropriate for professional or heavy use. Some of their more expensive machines can actually be switched into a high powered vacuum, making quick work of picking up the leaves after you have blown them into a pile. Most of their blowers for the consumer market use a 2-cycle engine, which means you will have to mix the oil and gasoline. However, they do make things a little easier by including a bottle of oil with new models.
The higher end Poulan Pro leaf blowers use a 4cc gasoline engine that is capable of producing up to 205 mph wind speeds, while only generating 74 decibels of sound. While that is quieter than many leaf blowers, it is still essential to wear hearing protecting when operating a gas backpack blower of any kind.
There is a quite a difference between the expensive models and the cheaper ones. But overall, they seem to be a good buy for the money.
